Dates to put in your diary... Oxford Sinfonia Bassoon Reed Workshop
| The Oxford Sinfonia is organising a Bassoon Reed workshop as part of a series of instrumental workshops for wind, brass and strings held on Sundays in 2007/8. The tutor will be Robin Kennard. Robin is a busy freelance player and is a member of the English Chamber Orchestra and the Northern Sinfonia. He is a professor at the Royal College of Music. Tom Simmonds from Fox UK will also be attending - a selection of Fox bassoons and other products will be available to try or buy! There will be two sessions – from 10am- 12.30pm, and 12.30pm – 3pm and will include demonstrations on reed-making, reed adjusting and checking the instrument – also general Q&A. The atmosphere will be relaxed and informal. The day is designed for amateur players of all ages, and teachers. The workshop will be held in St Ebbes School, just south of Oxford city centre. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided.
